For me, BlogathonATX is all about the food! My name is Kay Marley-Dilworth, and I’ve been volunteering on the food & bevie side of Blogathon since inception, working the coffee bar. I’ve graduated in duties, and now I help find food and beverage sponsors for Blogathon. Blogging is hungry work, and I strive to ensure that you never experience a hunger pang during our day together.
My love of food and blogging keeps me grounded, sane and always counting calories. In 2009, I started my Twitter feed, @ATXFoodnews, and was elated to find a growing community of social media enthusiasts. When IleenieWeenie posed the question, would anyone like to get together and blog, I knew I wanted in on that action! From the first, I was hooked. It amazed me that such an incredible amount of talent was gathered in one place, simply to collaborate, discuss, bounce ideas off each other (and eat). I learned more in one conversation at the first Blogathon than I had in the years I was blogging on my own.
Each Blogathon exceeds my expectations, even the one where I was rushing around like a mad woman and threatening to bust out the vodka before the designation happy hour time rolled around. The best tidbits of information seem always to come from random, one-on-one conversations during a lull between panel discussions. And the Tech Cave brainiacs have helped me out immensely, as I continue to groom my little baby blog into the bangin’ blogging creature I know it can become.
I’m looking forward to meeting y’all in April, when we gather to learn about ROI, SEO and most importantly, FOOD.
