I’m just going to call you on it. Because I want to help you.
Well, mostly I want you to pick up some Roll On Sushi from the break room, along with some cake, and I want you to come see me in the tech room at #BlogathonATX.
Seriously – and not just for the sushi and cake delivery.
I want you to come see me because I know your secret.
I know that you are a new blogger, or maybe not even a blogger at all yet, and that you’re so mortified by being the last person, including your mother, to have a blog that you’re TERRIFIED to ask where you should start.
You’re afraid your techno savvy friends will mock you and talk about you in HTML behind your back.
You’re afraid it’s *cue dramatic music* TOO LATE TO START BLOGGING.
To that I say PSHAW!
BlogathonATX is the PERFECT place to spend a day going from blogless to serious nerd in just a few hours. I have never met a group of people that I was instantly more comfortable around than this extremely diverse group of smart, friendly, knowledgeable and HILARIOUS people.
I’m already a serious nerd, and my like-minded nerds and I seriously enjoy the heck out of helping both new bloggers and experienced bloggers get more out of the interwebz in a super laid back environment. Our tech room has people with a wide variety of skills and specialties. We have Blogger experts, WordPress experts, site developers, social media experts and more. As a matter of fact, if your question isn’t about blogging at all, I bet one of us can still help.
You can seriously ask us anything – if we don’t know the answer, we will make up the most spectacular lie you’ve ever heard in your life, and you will be the better for it, I assure you.
And if you want a place to just hide from your kids and nap on a comfy couch or read a book, that’s okay too. Nothing will get you out of chores like a “tech conference” on a Saturday. Be sure and roll your eyes and sigh a lot as you grab your laptop and slump out the door to freedom.
Come on out from behind that bag and join us :).
A bit about me: I’m the Community, Social Media & Website Manager for Splitcoaststampers.com at Internet Brands. Splitcoast is an art community site in our home & garden division and we have about 350,000 members. I am also an artist, and can’t sit still without either making or tweeting something. I teach Social Media for Artists at RISE Austin, so I hope to see you there. I live in south Austin with my husband and two rescued kittens, and when I’m not nerding it up I like long distance walking and geocaching. Austin has been my home since 1990 and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Well except Santa Fe. And Brisbane, Australia. Or Hawaii. But really, that’s it. xxoo
