This year BlogathonATX is hosting a very special guest. Not only is she related by blood to our founder, Ilene Haddad, but Beth Blauer is someone who knows without a shadow of a doubt what a blogging community can do when it comes together.
Please take a moment to read these two posts. The first is by her husband Oren who was lost to cancer this past year:
The second is a guest post that Beth wrote for Oren’s blog:
Beth Blauer is the Executive Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Government Excellence. She oversees a team of applied researchers, academics, and analysts who are focused on working with cities to improve their ability to use data and evidence in their daily work. Beth is a recent recipient of a very generous grant from Bloomberg Philanthropes, and will lead work in 100 midsize cities over the next three years, transforming how cities use data to improve the lives of residents.
